Radical Proof the Body is Capable of Healing Itself
Scientists are just now figuring out what many have known for years – that liver regeneration is possible and easier than previously thought. And it can do so with as little as 25% of the healthy liver tissue remaining! I believe this proves what holistic and alternative practitioners have known for years – that the body has a remarkable capability to heal itself without taking damaging drugs. Given the proper nutrition and lifestyle changes, one can, in a relatively short period of time, often regain their health.
However, some people are not afforded the luxury of time and find themselves in a health crisis. This is when doctors are necessary, they come in handy during emergency situations. The medical communtity with it’s researchers are now learning how to grow body parts. Many of the proteins that induce organ regeneration have been identified and scientists are now trying to make organs regrow by stimulating these proteins. Regrowing livers this way would be especially useful for patients whose livers are so damaged – say, by a tumor that has spread to most of the liver – that a large part would be removed. Unless such patients receive the right amount of liver transplant from an organ donor, they do not always survive. Quickly stimulating the growth of the remaining portion of their own liver could be their only chance of survival. Fortunately, they are seeing promising results with with lab rats and report that they are not far from astounding technology that will help save many lives.
The unfortunate thing is scientists will be bogged down for years as they try to figure out exactly how this happens with the proteins and all. Then they can develop a drug or technology to make liver regeneration possible in patients with liver diseases, according to The Journal of Biological Chemistry. They are on the verge of some cutting edge technology.
Technology is a great thing, but when it comes to your health – don’t wait for anything. Take control now while you still can. There are steps that we can do to take our health back into our own hands. The world is full of people who have helped their bodies heal from diseases including hepatitis, cirrhosis, and cancers of every name. They all have two things in common; cleansing with diet/herbs to get the excess burden off the liver and then consuming extra nutrition to help the body rebuild and regenerate new, healthy tissue. This is the basis of all holistic or alternative health.
Even if you’re not sick, it’s a great idea to protect your liver so you can stay healthy, energetic and strong. Here are some nutritional ideas to get you started:
- Drink fresh vegetable juice using carrots, celery, any other greens you like and here’s the important one – about ¼ to ½ of a beet. More than this can cause cramping and IBS-like symptoms as it is very powerful. Beets have plenty of antioxidants including beta-carotene, flavonoids and folic acid all of which help the first stage of liver detoxification. I believe drinking fresh vegetable juice on a daily basis is key to helping restore a healthy immune system.
- Spinach, garlic, tomatoes, peppers, tomatillos, papayas, and melons are all good sources of Vitamin C, antioxidants and beta-carotene.
- Broccoli, cabbage, brazil nuts, onions, asparagus, avocado, and mushrooms all contain natural sulfur compounds, and/or selenium and/or glutathione all of which are important for liver detoxification.
- Lemons help to cleanse the body.
- Walnuts contain arginine to help the liver detoxify ammonia, a waste product of the body. They also contain omega-3 fatty acids which help detoxify and add healthy fats.
- Soy Beans contain lecithin which helps the liver break down fats and helps maintain healthy membranes around liver cells.
- Dark green superfoods are full of easily assimilated proteins, folic acid and vitamins to assist your body healing process and liver regeneration, if needed.
Keep in mind it takes more nutrient dense foods to heal a compromised body. That’s why juicing is key here. For example I juice two 1# bags of carrots daily before lunch. I could never eat that many carrots along with all the other required foods on Budwig. I already stay full most of the time. It’s hard to get it all in. So juice, use these foods, along with a cleansing diet free from junk and you may find your body healthier than you ever were even years ago. We are after all wonderfully and awesomely made. When given the right nutrients we are healing machines.
